Summary of Work
Demolition and Disposal of damaged roof, repair damaged rafters, install asphalt shingles, underlayment, ridge vents, PVC pipe flashing, metal drip edge and paint exterior wood fascia and soffit.
Notice to Bidders
Sealed proposals will be received Wednesday, June 18, 2025, no later than 2:00pm (EST) the Wake County Housing Authority for Casualty Loss Building Roof Replacement: The One (1) building is located at 819 Delta Street, Garner, NC 27529.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following items:
1. Provide all labor, material and equipment required for the asphalt shingle roof replacement of 819 Delta Street, Garner, NC 27529.
- The project time frame is 30 calendar days, Monday-Saturday, Demolition/Installation start time 8:00am - Dusk. The Contractor will be given additional days for rain days.
- 30 Yr Architecture Shingles: Owens Corning, Atlas ProLam: Color: Black
- Use true/starter/ridge shingles to make sure the job qualifies for the Manufacturer Warranty.
- Ice & water shield: Full sheet on the bottom and half sheet on the sides
- All roof penetrations shall be covered with 3'X3' ice/water shield for additional protection.
- Synthetic underlayment.
- Install white drip edge on all sides of the roof.
- Ridge vents: The ridge opening should meet Manufacturer specifications to allow proper air flow and quality for Manufacturer Warranty.
- Install new plumbing boots.
- Install new black roof exhaust.
- 5'Black rain diverters over front/back doors.
- All vehicle and piggyback tire tracks/rut damage in the yards can be repaired at the end of the job.
- Paint fascia and soffits that have been replaced with same color.
- Clean up daily, and upon completion.
2. Provide all other work in the project manual and as required by code and local authority having jurisdiction.
3. Bad areas of the roof decks will be marked with orange/red marking spray paint for Director of Maintenance to come by to validate the areas of repair to be replaced at each location prior to replacement.
A Pre-Bid Conference has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 2:00pm. Meeting will be held at the Wake County Housing Authority Administrative Office located at 100 Shannon Drive, Zebulon, NC 27597. A Site visit will follow.
Contractors unable to attend the Pre-Bid Conference may visit at their leisure, but should notify the Housing Authority of their intent to do so. Contact Fred Lowell at (919) 269-6404 and advise him of the scheduled date and time of visit.
All Contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the State Laws governing their respective trades, whether Federal Funding is involved.
Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina will be observed in receiving and awarding the Contracts.
Refer to provisions for Equal Employment Opportunity and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages indicated in the project manual must be paid on this project.

No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of fifteen (15) days.
